“Giving back to the University allows many beneficial experiences and programs to positively impact those who follow in our footsteps.”
Describe your Syracuse experience.
My Syracuse experience has been composed of opportunities I never predicted I would have the chance to pursue like shadowing professionals at three-letter agencies in DC, traveling the world and visiting the European Parliament and presenting the colors before a SU football game in front of 40,000 fans in the JMA Wireless Dome. My Syracuse experience has connected me to great friends, mentors and memories that I will carry with me through the rest of my life.
How is your school/college preparing you for your future career?
The Maxwell School is preparing me for my future career through exposure to a variety of disciplines and viewpoints within my studies. Comparing and synthesizing this diversity of thought will help prepare me for a future career as a military officer where I will be depended on to lead, while solving complicated problems and balancing diverging information, opinions and interests.
Tell me about your involvement with the Air Force ROTC.
Air Force ROTC has been central to my time at Syracuse by providing me with structure for my college experience and a family of friends and mentors. Within the AFROTC detachment, I have been involved with the Color Guard performing at SU football and basketball games as well as community events and enrichment opportunities, like attending the National Character and Leadership Symposium at the United States Air Force Academy. I have had invaluable leadership development through training the first-year cadets within the program and have been selected as the new Group Commander responsible for leading the entire cadet group for the Fall 2025 semester.
Have you studied abroad? Tell me about that experience.
I was fortunate enough to study abroad in the fall semester of my junior year at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. This experience fulfilled a lifelong aspiration of living in another country and contributed to significant personal growth through exposure to a new culture, academic institution and international travel. My experience also enhanced my educational development through the study of international relations in a differing academic paradigm at the University of Edinburgh. While I cherished my time abroad, the experience inspired within me a sense of immense gratitude to have a home and family in Syracuse, which I missed while abroad and was excited to return to.
Why do you think giving back to the University is important?
I believe giving back to the University allows many beneficial experiences and programs to positively impact those who follow in our footsteps. It is important that we recognize the influence our time at Syracuse has had in shaping us and work to extend those same benefits to others.
What does it mean to you to be Orange?
Being Orange to me means being passionate. To be Orange involves having a passion for learning and exploring, building relationships and connections and contributing to the Syracuse community.
