Describe your Syracuse experience.

Being a student at Syracuse University has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and become the best version of myself. Through rigorous academics and supporting faculty + peers, I’ve learned how to push myself both creatively and critically. Every person I meet, class I attend and challenge I take on lays the foundation for my career.

How is VPA preparing you for your future career?

VPA has allowed me to expand my interests not just through music, but across the entire college. As a Music Industry student, I’ve been able to continue my passion for performing through singing with various ensembles and solo pieces, while also diving into the business and creative sides of the industry. Beyond my music studies, VPA has given me the opportunity to take courses in post-production and film, which has really helped me shape a clearer vision of where I want to go with my future career. The blend of performance opportunities, industry-focused classes and the ability to explore different creative fields has been essential in preparing me for the real world.

How has your involvement with any organizations/extracurriculars impacted you?

Since the spring semester of my freshman year, I have been involved with the VPA Ambassador Program, which has given me the opportunity to talk with prospective students and share my love for Syracuse/VPA. Through this program, I also joined the VPA Career Ambassadors and Peer Advisors, roles that have allowed me to support current students in their academic and professional journeys. These roles have helped me grow as a leader and mentor, while deepening my connection within the VPA community.

Outside of VPA, I’m also involved with Syrvivor Syracuse and Main Squeeze A Cappella. These organizations have not only allowed me to continue exploring my passions for performance and collaboration, but have also introduced me to an incredible community of students across campus. Each experience has shaped me into a more confident and connected individual.

What has been your favorite Syracuse experience so far?

My favorite Syracuse experience so far has been performing at the annual Holidays at Hendricks concert. This event is filled with so much tradition, from the lighting of candles to beautiful pieces of music performed by various ensembles. Being part of such a meaningful and beloved campus tradition made me feel deeply connected to the Syracuse community.

Why do you think giving is important?

Giving is important because it helps fuel the creative spirit and drive that defines VPA. Contributions directly support students, performances, guest artists, updated facilities and learning opportunities. VPA students are constantly pushing boundaries in their work, and donor support ensures they have the tools, spaces and mentorship to bring their ideas to life. Giving empowers the next generation of artists, performers and creative professionals to thrive.
